Legal Assistant Program
The Legal Assistant program will give you the training you need, providing a complete overview of practical litigation skills and tasks. Legal Assistants continue to assume a growing range of tasks and perform many of the same jobs as lawyers. You will gain the necessary tools to provide vital assistance to lawyers, clients and courts.

Legal Assisting Program
Graduates of Heald's Legal Assisting program pursue rewarding careers as Legal Assistants, Legal Administrative Assistants, Legal Office Clerks, and Legal Secretaries. They work in a variety of different organizations, including law firms, government agencies, financial institutions, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and social service agencies. A Heald degree serves as a solid foundation for graduates who choose to pursue certification as an Accredited Legal Secretary (ALS), as well.

A career in criminal justice offers many benefits and possibilities; among them are working in a professional environment, job security, the potential for career advancement, and the personal satisfaction of doing interesting, highly valuable work that serves the public. The Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice program focuses on crime, law enforcement, correction, and the criminal justice system. Applying an interdisciplinary approach, the program helps students understand the mechanisms of social control and the resolution of criminal justice problems, including currently accepted procedures, which are updated on a continuing basis. Program graduates may secure employment in the criminal justice system in a variety of positions including counselor, juvenile parole or correctional officer, private investigator, social worker, or caseworker. 

Associate Degree in Legal Assistant/Paralegal
The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Paralegal/Legal Assistant program is designed to provide the student with fundamental knowledge of legal terminology, substantive and procedural law, drafting of legal pleading and responses, and legal research. Graduates of the program should be able to assist an attorney in private or corporate practice.

Bachelor of Science in Legal Assistant/Paralegal
The Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Assistant/Paralegal enhances the study of law and legal research to permit graduates to further their legal knowledge while enhancing their opportunity for career advancement.
