CAD - computer aided design packages have changed the face of almost all the design professions across the board, from engineering design to fashion design. Instead of having to laboriously reproduce the whole design by hand from the beginning, designers can take pre-drawn modules and simply add them into the design layouts. CAD packages also help with the later stages of design, allowing parts lists and cutting layouts to be automatically produced from the original designs.
